Captain Mbah Louis of PWD has expressed his frustration but not loosing hope after the Abakwa Boy’s one-nil defeat by Kaiser Chiefs in the first leg preliminary round game of the CAF Champions League. The skipper expressed his frustration but not losing hope ahead of the second leg game.

The game which was played at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium Sunday November 29, 2020 was defined by narrow margins.

The skipper Mbah who has been very illustrous at midfield, says it was a disappointing result for PWD.

“It is a very disappointing result for us. We tried our best to ensure that we give our all, but you know how football is, it is either of three results either you win, loss or draw but today we have come out defeated, I feel very sad.”

To him their victory was far fetched because of the absence of local championship which has limited their competitiveness.

“I will say the absence of the championship has affected us. You know when a team is in a competition you have to know the terrain and you get to play a lot of games, you get to have match experience. You know we have been playing just friendly games and which has not been the same with a league games. Not with the same intensity, so it is really been a minus for us and you have seen how today has gone.”

Quizzed on their next encounter slated away from home December 5th, 2020, Louis says PWD has nothing to loose therefore but still beleif in the game of football

“Going over to South Africa is going to be a go for it game, we have nothing to lose.
We have gotten ourselves in a very precarious situation. This is very difficult for us but we still believe in the game of football. Anything can happen and we are going over there to give our all for the victory. ”

The emblematic midfielder featured in 16 games for the Abakwa Boys last season, mainly due to a knee injury sustained in the early days of the season and scored a goal in that nail biting encounter against Dragon Football Club in Yaounde. He has come back stronger and bosses the PWD midfielder these days.
