North African countries have the Lion share of the Football leagues that make a lot of money on the continent. That is possibly why most of their finest players ply their trade back home.
This is how the Top Five football leagues on the continent are ranked.
1-ABSA Premier Soccer League-South Africa

The Super sports deal is the biggest in the country’s history and it made the PSL be ranked Among top 15 leagues in terms of commercial broadcast deals.
2-ETISALAT Egyptian Premier league -Egypt
The Egyptian league is basically sponsored by telecommunication giant ETISALAT.
The league has been existing since 1948.
Egyptian State broadcaster and other private media organs are fully engaged in marketing the country’s league.
This has cost them 8 million Egyptian pounds($1.3) to broadcast games.
The money harvested from AFCONS tittles has enabled the country’s League to grow meanwhile clubs like Al Ahly ,Zamalek and Ismaily have greatly contributed to the growth of the local league especially through their performances on the continent.
3-TUNISIA League Professional one- Tunisia
This is another North African league that keeps pulling attention. Though a lot is not said on the sponsorship, the country’s level of infrastructural development has greatly impacted on the league’s emergence.
Esperance de Tunis, Club Africain and Club sportfif Sfaxien have contributed in one way or the other in the league, this especially thanks to continental performances.
4-Glo Ghana premier league-Ghana
It is only from 2008 that the Ghanian league is counted amongst most lucrative Football Leagues in Africa. This is thanks to 23 million US dollars deal with the Nigerian telecommunication giant Globacom owned by Nigerian born Mike Adenuga.
The contract was also to take care of the national outfit The black stars.
Another exciting deal for Ghanian league is done in 2009,when optimum media prime (OMP) secured TV production and broadcast rights to the league signing a 1.7 million cedis deal($90000).

The continues increase in players wages and welfare in Sudanese clubs like Al Hilal and El Merreikl has enormously revamped the local league.
The Sudanese league has going on since 1962.
