Cameroon’s premium tactician Anicet Mbarga Foe admitted to kick442.com that the Cameroon League 2 has become even more difficult after his first victory with Astres Football Club of Douala against Leopard Sportif.
The architect of Eding Sports lone silver piece in 2018 explained: ” the victory is going to bring some serenity to the team after the bad start of the campaign.”
The former Bamboutos gaffer continued “that defeat in the hands of Dynamo and a share of the spoils against Matelots wasn’t the plan but we did our best to carry the day today.”
Fresh from the AFCON as one of Burundi’s deputy coaches, the well traveled coach went on – “it was an extremely difficult game. If Leopard took their chances, they would have been victorious with a couple of goals. Luck was on our side. I say congratulations to my players.”
“We were very much determined and wanted to break the duck; when I came here, I was told that Astres was yet to win in Buea, so we set out to break that,” Mbarga Foe ended.
In terms of recent successes in Cameroon, only Laurent Djam can rival Anicet Mbarga Foe. After the league 2 break coach Mbarga Foe would be looking to put up a streak of wins to power Astres Football Club back to the top.
