Late Enugu Rangers International attacker, Ifeanyi George Onwubiko was buried on Saturday at the ATAN cemetery in Yaba, Lagos.
The former Enyimba player met his end after a fatal motor accident took his life and two others on their way to Lagos to observe the ’emergency’ break of the league as a result of the corona virus outbreak.
The player was said to be travelling to Lagos to spend time with his family during the two weeks break given by the management of Rangers football club.
Only few family members and friends were allowed to witness the sad event as a result of the prevailing health situation in the country,
Meanwhile, Ifeanyi’s teammates at Rangers have paid tribute to the late player while speaking with Rangers International media team.
Egbujuo:“Still crying till tomorrow on the death of my brother and teammate, Odogwu.I pray that God Almighty will accept you.
Egwim:”Farewell Ify. May God grant your gentle soul perfect peace.”
Atuloma:”God will never forget you. Go and rest today and rest in peace.
The late player joined Rangers from Enyimba FC at the start of 2017. He scored his first goal for Rangers against Kano Pillars in the NPFL on April 23, 2017.
While his last goal for Rangers was against Al Masry in the CAF confederation cup on Feb 2, 2020.
