Potential Indomitable of Cameroon midfielder Aurelien Tchuameni dominated the midfield area for AS Monaco on Friday evening as they punished AS Saint Etienne of Harold Moukoudi on the road by four goals to nil to keep their third spot and title hopes alive.
All didn’t start as planned for Saint Etienne without Moukoudi as they conceded in the 13th minute through rare starter Stevan Jovic who scored off an assist from Potential Indomitable Lions of Cameroon midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
Though they were other chances, both sides failed to score another goal till the break, leaving the score at 0-1 for the visitors on the break.
The Monegase took the one goal cursion to the half-time break.
Monaco came back stronger in the second segment and extended their lead 10 minutes into the half through Tchouameni.
Sofiane Diop made it three-nil in the 76th minutes.
Substitute Krépin Diatta benefited from a Cesc Fabregas assist to make it four nil.
Both sides failed to find another goal in the last fourteen minutes of the game plus additional time, leaving the full-time score at 4-0 in favor of the visitors.
Aurelien had a great display of his qualities in the midfield and was voted man of the match.
Reacting after the game, the French youth international displayed his much talked-about humility.
“There is nothing extraordinary, the coach has confidence on me so he gives me the opportunity to play regularly. So whenever I am on the pitch I give my all to pay back the confidence of the coach,” Aurelien who covered 12.4 KM on the night and made eight ball recoveries told the media post-match.
On the 15 attempts registered by Monaco on the night he was involved in six creating and scoring for the Club.
The Cameroon-eligible midfielder has scored twice and assisted two goals in 29 league games this campaign.
The match-day 29 victory takes Monaco up to the fourth spot on the log with 20 points, barely four points off leaders Lillie.
