Tanzanian Super middleweight pugilist, Hussein Itaba, will step into the ring on March 19 to fight a London-based Nigerian cruiserweight boxer, Tony Salam, in a WBC Continental federations (ABU) Cruiserweight tittle clash, in Lagos, Nigeria.
Itaba, who is from a well known boxing gym in Dar es salaam ‘Naccoz gym’, has 10 wins, 5 losses and just 3 draws in his previous 18 pro bouts. He last won against his fellow Tanzanian rival Ibrahim Tamba in july last year, but before he recorded a draw over highly-rated Congolese opponent, Alex Kabangu in late 2020.
He noted:“I am very strong and healthly, well prepared for the fight, we have already seen our opponent and we work on him goodly, i hope the winning will be on our side, becouse we were long informed and i am enough trained so the title will come at home.”
Salam, who has an impressive 15-3 record, including 10 fights in the United Kingdom. ever won the World Boxing Federation African Cruiserweight title against Zimbabwean prominent boxer, Chamunorwa Gonorenda in 2018.
Other bouts, Riliwan Lawal (13-0-0) will face Emmanuel Quartey (24-3-0) for the WBC Continental Federations Title (ABU), Taiwo Olowu (11-1-0) will face Aziz Quartey (19-5-0) for the West African Boxing Union Title (WABU) this is the next war for the king of the welterweight division.
