Namibia coach, Bobby Samaria says his side’s second Group D encounter with Tanzania is a must-win match.
After a 3-0 defeat to Guinea in their opening match, Bobby Samaria is of the view that his wards will have to forget their past mistakes and focus on getting a positive result when they face Tanzania on Saturday.
“Every coach in a tournament believes that they can go the distance. This is a do or die game. Football is a game. It allows one to prepare for the next game. Even if we lose, we will use it to prepare for our next game.” Coach Bobby Samaria opined during a pre-match press conference on Friday at Stade Omnisports, Limbe.
Namibia’s opponent, Tanzania also lost their first game of the tournament after a 2-0 defeat to Zambia.
Bobby Samaria asserted that both teams are in the same position and have to get a positive result from today’s game.
He said: “Unfortunately we made individual errors in our first game. We have moved on as it was water under the bridge. We are in the same position as our opponent.
“Image is not back. He sustained a calf injury and won’t take part in our next game.”
Namibia will play Tanzania in their second group game at the Stade Omnisports, Limbe, by 8:00 pm local time with the loser of the game expected to crash out of the tournament.
