The under 17 Lions of Cameroon have finally played their first match of their Under 17 pre-AFCON friendly in Turkey this Tuesday.
The game had to take place 24 hours earlier was called-off on Monday due to bad weather was finally played this Tuesday.The boys of Coach Thomas Libih had to come from behind to beat their Ugandan counterparts by 4 goals to one in their opening game in the preparatory tournament.
Uganda opened scores in Antalya through Juma Ibrahim in the 18th minute of the game but a fight back for Cameroon thanks AS Menoua Forward Wamba Djouffo Lionel’s two goals in the 41st and 69th minute before Steve Rgis Mvoue of Azur Academy added another in the 74th and a fourth goal Alioum Seidou of International in the 87th minute handed Cameroon the emphatic win.
Cameroon will face Belarus in their second game on Wednesday March 6 at Midday Local time which will be 10:00 AM in Yaounde.Belarus were suffered a 1 nil defeat to Morocco in their opening game on Monday and have had 24 hours extra hours of rest compared to Cameroon.
So far Cameroon’s front-line has of Steve Mvove and Wamba Lionel has been very productive,Mvoue was the topscorer in the 2016 UNNIFAC tournament last year in Equatorial Guinea but Wamba has been the man in form of late.
The tournament is a preparatory tournament for Cameroon ahead of the 8 Nations Under 17 AFCON to take place next month in Tanzania.
