Newly-recalled Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon and Awa Filles FC midfielder maestro Tantoh Melvis Ngifor continued her brilliant run in the 2020-2021 Cameroon Women’s Guinness Super League season by scoring one of her side’s goals in the 5-1 win against struggling Renaissance Athlétique De Figuil on Sunday.
The match-day seven at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium Annex marked Tantoh’s seven consecutive start for the Club this season.
16-year old sensation scored thrice while Nguiandem and Melvis Tantoh completed the scoring for Awa FC with Longuele Sophie as the lone scorer for Renaissance Athlétique.
The game got off to a quick fire start for Awa FC as Tabe scored in the fourth minute of play.
The former Dream Soccer Academy of Mamfe forward scored her second in the 43rd minute thus giving Awa FC a comfortable two-nil lead at the break.
Upon resumption for the second segment, Awa FC kept pressing for more goals.
Longuele Sophie pulled one back for the visitors in the 58th minute but it was all they could celebrate on the day.
Nguiandem scored a fourth goal for Awa Filles in the 67th minute before Tantoh Melvis made it 4-1 in the 71st minute.
Tabe Brenda completed het hat-trick in the 73rd minute making it 5-1 for Awa Filles FC.
Tantoh playing in the deep midfield role has scored thrice in seven appearances this season and playing her best football since her return from Nigeria in the beginning of last season.
Her exploits on the pitch has earned her a recall to the Cameroon team preparing for the upcoming Tokyo Olympic qualifiiers against Chile.
