Awa Ladies of Yaoundé midfielder Tantoh Melvis Ngifor has credited her strong start to the 2020-2021 Cameroon Women’s Guinness Super League championship to her preparations for the campaign.
Melvis who scored just once from the holding midfield role all of the previous season has already scored twice in three appearances this campaign.
There has an all round improvement in the performance of the two-capped Cameroon International.
Speaking in a recent interview with kick442.com, the former Rivers Angels and Delta Queens midfield mentronome stated her newfound form wasn’t a fluke.
“I believe God is rewarding my efforts in the preparations for the season with the coaches. I had a great preparations. I believe that helps too plus the fact that our team has improved this season. We want to win as many games as possible and of course we are going one game at a time, these are the most important things now.” Melvis opined.
After scoring in Awa’s five-star demolition of Diamare in Yaoundé in the opening match-day of the 2020-2021 season, Melvis opened scores in last weekend’s 2-2 draw away at Eclair of Sa’a underlining her importance to the work coach Hassan Ibrahim is doing at the Club.
Noted for her intelligent all-round game, including good passing range and ability to stick a leg to regain possession, Tantoh is considered as one of the most influential element in Awa’s midfield activities as it stands.
