Stade Renard of Melong all-time lead scorer in the top-flight Tamo Giresse Tinwo made the difference on Saturday in Match-day five of the 2020-2021 Cameroon Elite One championship.
The striker struck twice on Saturday as Stade Renard of Melong FC narrowly-edged Avion Academy FC 2-1.
Chewe is the top goal scorer of the league so far with 6 goals.
The Littoral derby at the Bepanda Omnisport Stadium in Douala was decided by the 26-year old Cameroonian striker.
Tamo scored a brace in the first segment as Stade Renard picked their second away win in this season’s championship.
The visitors were made to be patient as a struggling Avion Academy side came to Bepanda Omnisport Stadium in Douala with clear plans of frustrating the boys of coach Gabriel Zabo.
It took up to 37 minutes for lethal finisher and usual scorer Tamo Giresse to draw first blood and hand the lead to the home side.
Five minutes later Tamo was back for more, the former YOSA and Bamboutos FC attacker scissors the Avion backline before putting the ball pass the Avion Academy net minder.
Stade Renard of Melong took the two-nil advantage to the break thus leaving Avion Academy with a mountain to climb in the second segment in order to get a point from the game.
Avion however found the back of the net through skipper Mfegue Georges Omgba, who converted an 82nd minute penalty to make it 2-1.
The game ended on the 2-1 score for Stade Renard, sending the few fans who traveled with the team to total frenzy.
