Former Super Eagles defender, Taiye Ismaila Taiwo has joined the American side, Palm Beach Stars from Cypriot side, Doxa Katokopias.
The former player of Marseille, Milan, QPR, Dinamo Kyiv, and the Nigeria National Team has decided to join the PBS project to help the Club achieve their dreams.
This is his first words:
“I’m so proud of this new challenge and I can’t wait to start, I’m so excited to be a new player of Palm Beach Stars, I want to say thank you to my agency and to my agent Alexander Garini for making this possible and also to the CEO for his interest from the beginning of negotiations and for the amazing project that they want to build now, Palm Beach I’m coming”
Taiye Taiwo was born on 16th April 1985. He is a Nigerian international with 54 caps and eight goals for the Super Eagles. He played for Nigeria at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and won a Bronze medal at the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
On the domestic scene, a young Taiye Taiwo peppered opponents with his deadly left foot. His trademark was netting free kicks from long range. Nicknamed, the Tornado due to his ferocious shots. He represented his country at the 2005 FIFA U20 World Cup as they finished second behind Argentina losing 2-1 in the final.
Taiwo was voted third best player after scoring world-class strikes in games with Ukraine and Morocco.
He made the switch to Marseille after the U20 World Cup. In France, he defended the colours of Marseille for six years before pitching tent with AC Milan in 2013. He Joined then QPR in the English premier league.
Taiwo has donned also the colors of Bursaspor, HJK Helsinki, Lausanne, AFC Eskilstuna, RoPS, and Doxa.
