Top notch forwards they say play for others when they can’t score. That’s just what Indomitable of Lions Cameroon and Young Boys of Bern forward Jean Pierre Nsame did last weekend for his Club Young Boys Bern as they were held by FC Luzern in an action-packed Swiss Super League game that finished 2-2.
Nsame started at the sharp point of the attack for the visitors ahead of compatriot Jordan Siebatcheu while fellow forward and potential Indomitable Lion Yvan Alounga watched from the bench for the host.
It took just 23 minutes for Luzern to open score through 22-year old Swiss forward Filip Ugrinic.
Though with multiple incursions FC Luzern managed to keep their lead till the break.
Young Boys didn’t slow down upon resumption for the second segment.
In an attempt to get at least an equalizer coach Gerardo Soane introduced Jordan Siebatcheu in place of Felix Khonde Mambimbi to partner Nsame upfront from the 66th minute of the game.
The Lethal finisher, Nsame displayed his generosity in the 71st minute of the game when he played in Christian Fassnacht to equalize for the back-to-back champions.
In search for the equalizer, FC Luzern threw in Yvan Alounga in the 81st minute.
Stefan Knežević who was having a tough afternoon put the ball pass his own keeper in the 86th minute to give visitors Young Boys a 2-1 lead.
Nsame was booked in the 89th minute of the game.
Fortunately for the host, they finally got the equalizer in the 96th minute through Marvin Schulz.
The game ended on a 2-2 score to the satisfaction of both sides though a win could have been a great result for either sides.
By being involved in one of his side’s two goals in the matchday 22 fixture,
Nsame who lasted the duration of the game has assisted four goals this season. He is his Club’s lead scorer in the league this term as he has scored 12 goals and assisted four in 18 appearances in the league.
In all, the 27-year old has 19 goals to his credit and assisted four in 27 games this season.
Young Boys are 19 points atop in the Swiss Super League ahead of their fixture away FC Basel in match-day 22.
