Continental FA and EEMSA were involved in a 5 goal thriller that eventually went the way of Continental FA (3-2).
The revamped Continental side led by Lazar Mbounya started the game in fine fashion and did not hesitate to take the lead at the 27th minute when Dieudonne Younyi caught the EEMSA defense off guard and slotted pass goal keeper Kelvin Ashu.
Just 5 minutes after, Continental FA doubled their lead with a superb moment of inspiration from Robert Koneyi to increase tally to 2.
It looked like a one sided affair for a bit until skipper and lead scorer Kimbi drove low and hard shot with his weaker left foot pass goal keeper Stephen Junior at the 42 minute.
The goal of Continental FA was now under siege and just few seconds after EEMSA had halved the deficit, Mark Fokala brought us back from where we started still, at the 42 minute with a deflected shot that beat the goalkeeper again.
The second segment was less eventful and rather filled with rusty tackles from both sides knowing what was at stack. Ngeh Beligine was having a day to forget for EEMSA. The usually resourceful forward was involved in all sorts of misses from free kicks to volleys, to eye-ball-to-eye-ball chances that went off target at every attempt.
The fans of both sides were ready to shake hands and part ways until a lightening quick break at the 88 minute from the right hand side that set up Ndive Njie for a goal that was likened to be a ‘golden goal’ for Continental FA.
The gap has been bridged in group B though Continental FA remain third, they have given themselves a chance of making the mini Interpol’s on the last playing day.
