Njalla Sports Academy of Limbe have picked up an impressive 2-1 victory in the season opener.
Njalla Sports Academy of Limbe and Limbe Football Club Association have played an an exciting game in the opening fixture of the 2020-2021 Southwest Regional Championship at the Man O War Bay.
The 3:30pm kick-off unfortunately had limited personnel as some players of both sides had unresolved administrative problems.
LIFCA was the better side in the opening exchanges but the the NQSA backline stopped the multiple incursions.
Visiting LIFCA hit the cross bar through Mbongo Clovis in the 13th minute from a long range effort.
Captain Joseph Yanki of LIFCA was on the end of a dangerous challenge in the build up to the effort leading to a booking for Amedou Nfor.
20 minutes into the game Fonku Brandon was booked for another challenge on Joseph Yanki.
Captain Moutsio Ulrich came close for NQSA in the 21st minute after finding space in the final third.
24 minutes into the game captain Moutsio Ulrich put the host ahead.
Three minutes later, Mbem Brandon made it two-nil with a superb volley.
LIFCA improved in the next 15 minutes of the game but on two occasions but goalkeeper Azeh Donald defied the visitors on both occasions.
Midfielder Fru Ade was sent off on the struck of half-time following a second booking thus leaving NQSA with ten.
The game stayed on the same score till the end of the first-half.
Njalla Sports Academy of Limbe came back even stronger upon the break.
Nyabi James Eyambe came close twice but the score stayed.
Joseph Yannick halfed the deficit from a 25 meters perfectly taken set-piece.
Aboue Marius tested goalkeeper Azeh Donald from range with 12 minutes left but the latter saved.
Both sides failed to in the remainder of the game thus giving Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe with a 2-1 victory.
