Goals from Graham Mbong Metuk and Fonkeng Forka saw Cinyodev FA returned to winning ways as they dispatched Mt Cameroon FC 2-1. The game was one of the matchdays two fixtures played on Sunday, March 7 at the BGS School field.
Cinyodev took the lead at just 15mins into the encounter as a beautiful strike from Graham Metuk went in at the near post.
Adrian Etoge was impeccable at the defence for Cinyodev FA in the encounter as he foiled several opportunities that Mt Cameroon FC had to get the first goal.
With both sides not taking their chances the game headed into half time 0-0 on either side. Coach Ben Ntui could be seen giving the necessary information that his side needed to get more goals while Coach Mutia Jonathan did the same for his boys of Mt Cameroon FC.
Mt Cameroon FC began the second on the front foot as Cinyodev were pecked back into their half. A brilliant cross from Achi Kelvin was met with a superb strike from Sona Ekobe at the 49mins. Sona Ekobe had several chances in the first half to score and this goal gave the side the momentum to push for the winning goal.
Cinyodev FA and Mt Cameroon FC headed into this encounter after both lost their respective first encounters. For Cinyodev they were beaten 6-0 by Prisons FC while Mt Cameroon FC lost 3-0 to H.O Academy.
At the 78mins, Fonkeng Forka had an opportunity to seal the victory for Cinyodev FA but missed his chance. He will, however, come back again to give the victory for his side.
At the 90+ mark, it was Fonkeng Forka who scored the goal of the game to give Cinyodev the victory. Taking the ball from inside the Mt Cameroon FC half, Fonkeng beat two of the defenders before sitting the goalkeeper with a chip goal which sent the Cinyodev FA fans into jubilation.
On the unofficial classification table, Cinyodev FA is third with three points while Mt Cameroon is bottom with 0 points after two defeats recorded. H.O Academy leads Pool A with 6 points and followed by prisons with three points, though Prisons have a better goal difference.
Both sides will be expected on the pitch this weekend for Matchday three. Cinyodev FA will face H.O Academy while Mt Cameroon FC battles Prisons FC Buea.
