The coach of Ajax FC of Likomba has told kick442.com that this football championship his side will produce some exceptional football. The coach was speaking as he conducted his first training exercise in months at the Tiko Town Green Stadium on December 8, 2020.
To Coach Patrice Tueche Ajax FC is well prepared for the start of the championship and the team has been preparing since last football season for the new football championship.
“Today is the first day of training since we were on a recess. We rested for like one week and a few days. We felt that it was time for us to start training since the league starts in a few days mindful of the fact that the league had been inactive for more than three months,” Coach Patrice Tueche told kick442.com.
Coach Patrice is well known personality in the South West Regional League having been the coach of Ajax FC for the past two years. He is a former coach of Tiko United FC, coached EEMSA for two years, and also Little Foot FC. He has coached Stade Renard of Melong during the 2011/2012 football season.
The boys were put to their paces and the start of training involved light exercises and group exercises. This is to get the boys into shape for them to be prepared for their first match in the regional league.
This season, the team hopes to make inroads on the standings and why not finish top of the group. They will be regarded as underdogs in the competition but Coach Patrice told kick442.com that they should not count his team out yet.
“Last football season Ajax did something that no one would have imagined. In the overall classification Ajax was second and at the beginning of the championship last year no one would have imagined that Ajax would hold Tiko United, EEMSA. This year the expectation is much higher than last year.”
The club has succeeded in getting some new faces to fleshing up the squad. Attacker Mbigla Oscar has been brought in. This guy is doing exceptionally well and he is brings me satisfaction that any game we play can make a great difference. In the defence we have boys like Chenco and Benton, who are all new players. The boys are ready than last year, and I am sure that this year Ajax will be different,” Coach Patrice Tueche told kick442.com.
Ajax FC Likomba is placed this football season in Pool F alongside EEMMSA, Tiko United, Little Foot FC, and Treviso.
