LIFCA’s Marksman, Beckly Gwe increased his tally of goals to 14 this season, and once more cemented his place as the region’s best goal getter right before the eyes of football stakeholders. LIFCA through that strike takes charge of the table of 4 teams, but how it it happen?
LIFCA kick started the game from right to left with both teams just observing and perhaps respecting each others attacking prioress a lot in the first quater-of-an hour.
The first chance fell to the pacy LIFCA winger, Mbongo Clovis who tried to lob the goalkeeper out of his line from 30 yards, the keeper Stephen Junior had other ideas.

Just seconds after that miss from the other end at the 16 minute, there were genuine cries for a handball by the Continental faithful, but the referee did not even give a second look to it – the culprit for LIFCA was Jersey number 11, Tiencheu Boniface.
Gwe Beckly then had a chance at the 22nd minute missed from close range – a position he would normally tap the ball in.
Mbongo Clovis was tipped before the game as one of those to score, given his lovely history when he plays against Continental FA (last season he scored a brace against Continental FA), to oust them out of last season’s Mini Interpools but, he did not have his scoring boots on when he was perfectly set up for a volley, and simply went ahead to balloon the ball over the upright at the 38th minute.
LIFCA’s best chance came from their left back, Sakwe Itoe, with a miss hit cross that hit the woodwork at the 41st minute.
Continental FA found it difficult to control the middle of the park with an uninspired Bertrand Epoge, who’s only highlight of the first half was a left footed strike at the 43rd minute – and that was that for the first half.
The second half started just the way the first ended.
Gwe Beckly was constantly knocking the door and at the 50th minute, his strike brought out a brilliant save from goal keeper stephane Junior of Continental FA, the follow through by Ashu Tabi was simply embarrassing to the midfielder himself.
Stephen Junior was looking invincible, when called into action and at the 63rd minute, he showed great reflexes when he made two steps behind and parried an effort away, before a goal line Clarence by captain Bryan Kum on Sakwe Itoe’s follow-up shot at the 71st minute.
After a long and unfruitful period of 8 minutes without goal action, Ngwe Beckly returned from washing off blood stains from his hand and lashed out on a defensive howler, this time defied goal keeper Stephen’s net to give LIFCA the lead.
Continental tried in the remaining 10 minutes of the game, but the calm, cool and collected defense of LIFCA led by captain Sama Tondo shot the doors on them.
LIFCA are temporal leaders of the Mini Interpools with 3 points already.
