After being on recess for a couple of weeks now the date for the third round matches of the SW Qualifiers for the Cup of Cameroon have been made known.
Ten (10) teams are presently left in the competition and will be participating in the 3rd phase of the qualifiers for the Cup of Cameroon in the Region on Sunday, April 18. Five games have been programmed in venues across the Region such as Buea, Tiko and Kumba.
There is a second meeting between four teams still involved in the competition. NQSA and EEMSA are meeting yet again in the competition while Prisons and Cinyodev FA faced each other in round one of the Regional championship.
For the case of NQSA and EEMSA, the latter eliminated the former in round two on a post-match penalty shootout to advance to the next stage. NQSA advanced to the third round as the best loser in the last round. The team will be hoping for good fortunes when they face EEMSA, a team that lost its last game in the Regional championship on matchday five.
Prisons FC and Cinyodev FA will be meeting each other for the second time after facing each other on round one of the Regional League. During that match, it was prisons FC that came out victorious beaten their opponents 6-0. Since that meeting Prisons have struggled in the Cup of Cameroon qualifiers making it through to the third round after winning CUSA.
For Cinyodev FA the team recovered from that lost against Prisons and have gone on to win all their matches played in the Cup of Cameroon qualifiers. In their last outing, they defeated LIFCA to reach round three.
For the complete fixtures of Round Three:
Option Sports v Mt Cameroon FC (1 pm) at the Tiko Town Green Stadium
Best Stars v Continental FA (3 pm) at the Tiko Town Green Stadium
Njalla Quan SA v EEMSA (1 pm) at the BGS School Field
Prisons FC Buea v Cinyodev FA (3 pm) at the BGS School Field
NEMFA-Nguti v Kumba Lakers (3 pm) at the Kumba Municipal Stadium
It should be noted that five teams will win automatic qualification into the fourth and final round of the qualifiers. The winning teams will be joined by one best loser to make six teams to be involved in the fourth round. There, three winning teams are expected to win their place as SW representatives at the upcoming Cup of Cameroon.
