The Sudanese Football Association has continued its quest to develop women’s football through the training course for women’s club administrators which began last Saturday and runs to Sunday.
33 clubs administrators in and around Sudanese capital, Khartoum, are currently attending two days training which includes lectures on management and psychology.
On Saturday, Mrs. Mervat Hussein, President of the Sudanese Women’s Football Association, opened the lectures and spoke about the importance of developing the different departments in a sports clubs, and announced plans of a second edition of the Sudanese Women’s Football League with the participation of at least 23 Clubs.
Last season, the defense, AL-Defense team won the maiden edition of women’s soccer championship in Sudan after defeating Al-Tahadi team with a free goal at Khartoum Stadium, and also produced top scorer in the championship in Elham Beltone.
20 teams participated in last season’s Sudanese women’s football championship.
Women’s football is on the rise globally and Sudanese officials are not left behind in the race to empower women in the beautiful game.
