This Sunday afternoon will be veritable chance for the current league leaders, Cotonsport of Garoua to break their winless streak against Eding Sport de la Lakie in Garoua.

Without many noticing, 2017 champions of Cameroon, Eding Sport de la Lakie are one of only two clubs in the current Cameroon League 1 championship that have never lost a league game in Garoua.

This afternoon’s encounter will be the fourth for the boys of coach Jules Abah Onana.In their three previous three visits, Eding Sport de la Lakie have recorded 3 draws with one being a goalless while on two other occasions both sides separated on a one all score.

Eding Sport go into the game seeking just their second victory in six games against Cotonsport, just like the host. The other four games between these sides have ended in a draw.

Coach Ndoumbe Bosso’s Cotonsport is fresh from a 2-1 home win over Bamboutos FC of Mbouda on Wednesday while Eding suffered a 1-nil derby defeat against TKC.

For both sides this Sunday’s game not only a battle for points, it is equally an appointment with history. A win for Cotonsport of Garoua will be their first home win against their visitors, just like a win for 12th-placed Eding Sport de la Lakie will be their first away win over the 15 times champions.
