The coach of Racing Club de Strasbourg Thierry Laurey was injured in a fire incident that occurred last night at his apartment, but he has left the hospital this morning according to reports from AFP.
There was a big scare for Strasbourg and their 55 year old coach Thierry Laurey last night.
Laurey was injured in a fire accident that reached his apartment on the night of Monday breaking Tuesday.
He sustained a shoulder injury but looked ok this morning. Though he left his assistants to take care of Strasbourg’s training session this morning, he was present at the Meinau after leaving the hospital.
According to the reports from the fire fighters, 19 people were moved from the affected building after the fire incident.
Two fire fighters were slightly injured in the process of trying to get the fire under control.
“A 55 year old man was transported to the hospital in relative urgency,” a statement from the Fire fighting and Rescue department services of Bas-Rhin indicated on Tuesday morning, without given any precision on the identity of the 55 year old man.
“Two fire fighters were also slightly injured and they have been able to resume their activities normally after checks,” the fire fighters said.
After this unfortunate incident which caused more of a scare than any serious damages on the health and physical aptitude of the Strasbourg coach, the team is normally warming up for their UEFA Europa League third round first leg qualification game in Bulgaria on Thursday against Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
