The fairytale rise to stardom for Cameroon midfield sensation Steve Regis Mvoue continued on Wednesday, January 20.
The 2019 Under-17 AFCON winner and Most Valuable Player made his debut for the French Ligue 2 side Toulouse FC coming off the bench in the 62nd minute of their 1-0 victory against rivals FC Niort in an eight round French cup fixture.
The Azur Star FC midfielder had struggled with fitness since joining Toulouse late last year on a four-year deal.
Having recovered from a knee operation and joined the rest of the squad in training over a month ago, coach Patrice Garande threw him to partner with his brother Stephane Zobo in the forward role.
Toulouse FC narrowly-edge their opponents by one goal to nil thanks to a 37th minute goal from Ivorian forward Vakoun Issouf Bayo but the highlight of the night was the beginning of the Mvoue-era at the Club.
Mvoue ignored a handful of offers to join his brother at Toulouse FC in October 2020 and many have tipped him to go on and achieve great things.
Toulouse FC travel to Sochaux for their next fixture in the French Ligue 2 championship on Monday.
