Veteran Cameroonian midfielder Stephane Mbia Etoundi watched from the substitute bench for 90 minutes as his side Shanghai Shenhua sacrificed their lead late in the Match-day four clash against Dalian Pro in Group A of the abridged Chinese Super League.
Mbia’s mates took an early lead seven minutes into the game thanks to veteran Korean forward Kim Shin-wook.
The game stayed on the one-nil score till half time.
Former New Castle United forward Salomón Rondón leveled matters for Raphael Benitez’s side in the 66th minutes.
Seven minutes later, Gabonese-born Chinese forward Alexander N’Doumbou restored Shanghai Shenhua’s lead with just 17 minutes of the contest left.
Unfortunately for Mbia and mates, it wasn’t to be a third win in a row as Salomón Rondón completed his brace from the penalty spot in the 93rd minutes earning a priceless point for his side.
Dalian Pro remain winless in four games this season while Shanghai Shenhua have picked up seven points from 12 points in four games so far.
Mbia’s team on the 4th-spot travels to leaders Jiansung Suning on Friday for their matchday 5 commitment while Dalian Pro host Guangzhou R&F in a relegation Dog fight on Saturday.
