Stephane Mbia Leaves Toulouse, five months after joining the Ligue 1 side

32 year old former Cameroon international, Stephane Mbia Etoundi has terminated his contract with Toulouse on mutual consent, the French Ligue 1 side has confirmed.

Mbia joined the Ligue 1 side In August 2018, on a season-long contract. During his five months stay at the club, he made just five Ligue 1 appearances for Alain Casanova’s side.

He last featured in the starting XI, on
Saturday December 22, 2018, in Toulouse’s 2 #1 away win at Lille.

A club statement from Toulouse FC read’s, “In agreement with the management of the Toilouse FC, Stéphane M’bia has decided to end his contract with the Toulouse FC.
Stéphane wishes to thank the Toulouse FC for allowing him a return to the French league and wishes the club, its leaders and its supporters a beautiful second half of the season.
The TFC also salutes Stéphane for his commitment, his experience and his professionalism and wishes him the best in the pursuit of his great career”.

Meanwhile Stephane Mbia took to the social media to thank his former teammates of Toulouse FC, the supporters for the warm welcome and the daily support they gave him.

The former Kadji Sports Academy trainee was in his third spell in the French ligue 1, haven played for Rennes and French giants, Olympique Marseilles between 2004 and 2012. He also had a taste of English football with Queens Park Rangers between 2012 and 2014, before moving to FC Sevilla is Spain, where he won two Europa league Titles, before joining Turkish side Trabzonspor in 2015 and later Hebei China Fortune in the Chinese super league.

He also counts 68 caps for the Cameroon national team, since making his debute in 2005, and scoring five times for the indomitable lions.

Stephane Mbia is still attracting much attention from Turkish club’s, and has recently said he is not ruling out a possibly return to Trabzonspor.
