Former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon captain Stephane Mbia may just likely return to Europe after spending more than two years playing in China.
The Ex Rennes, Marseille and Toulouse player is reported to have caught the interest of clubs in Italy and Spain for his services with Sevilla, another club that the Cameroonian played for is also reported to be in the mix.
In 2019 Mbia Signed for Wuhan Zall in China after leaving Toulouse where he played just 5 games. Mbia played 24 times in all competition for Wuhan, spending just one season with the club.
In 2020 he signed for Shanghai Shenhua where he has played 13 times in all appearance so far, scoring no goal. He has played 12 times in the League and had 1 appearance in the Cup.
The defensive midfielder has a vast load of experience after playing top football for years. Should Mbia move back to Europe and to one of the leagues mentioned, it will not be a surprise one for him having played for years in both countries. Signing for one of the leagues will expose the player and for him to show the word what he is good at.
It should be recalled that Mbia played for Cameroon 68 times from 2005 to 2016 and scored five goals for the national team. He was part of the Cameroon squad for the 2008 Olympics in China, playing in all four of his team’s matches, and scoring once against Honduras. Mbia was also selected to represent Cameroon at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola and the World Cup in South Africa in 2014.
