Spanish third tier side Agrupacion Deportiva Alcoron have expressed interest in signing highly-rated teenage sensational Cameroonian goalkeeper Ekoi Manfred Mekumba ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Kick442.com can exclusively report that the club has reached out to parties involved to find out about the transfer of the 19-year old Cameroonian who has spent the last two years in Spain.
It is no secret that the Alcorcon side are planning a squad overhaul ahead of the new season, and the current transfer window is expected to see a flurry of incomings and outgoings at the club.
In a bid to further strengthen their goalkeeping area, the club is trying to sign the ex-Langreo B keeper, who is held in high esteem by the second tier side. The player is only 19 but is tipped to be a star in the future.
He has been plying his trade for the U18s team of Langreo and made a name for himself by linking up with the senior squad for training. That is a massive achievement for the starlet to be proud of in his fledgling career.
Although not much information is known about the transfer fee, it is highly likely that Ekoi will be thrust into the first team at any club he joins. Though the club would be cautious enough to develop and train the teenager further.
Should he join then the club would have gained a fantastic addition in the goalkeeping department, and they are sure to help him out in every way possible to help him continue his progress.
Alcorcon have a rich history of graduates from their Academy breaking into the senior side, and Ekoi who won the 2019 Under-17 AFCON with Cameroon could use that route.
