Amajimbos of South Africa defeated defending champions Zambia to take the 2020 COSAFA Under Seventeen Championship at the Nelson Mandela Bay on Sunday
The intense tie had ended in one all and went straight into penalties which saw the host triumphing 4-2.
Banda delivered the ball from the resulting penalty into the back of the net to open his side’s account as early as the second minutes.
In the fourteenth minutes, Francis looked for purchase as he weaved into the heart of the Zambian attacking area only to be brought down. Mahlangu levelled up and pockets the resulting penalty to get South Africa on level pegging.
The win is the first time South Africa will be winning the trophy since 2020.
In the battle for third place, Angola edged Malawi by two goals to one.
