Best Stars Academy of Limbe teenage forward Ulrich Soppo Likanjo Jemea has reach the peak of his powers way ahead of expected time.
The young striker netted his fifth goal in four games on Thursday as his club Best Stars Academy saw off Gazelle FA in the quarter-final of the 2021 Limbe International Youth tournament.
Just like it has been in the previous three games, Soppo decided the fixture by scoring an amazing header in the opening half of the hotly-contested game.
A masterclass defensive performance from the Bota Boys lead by keeper and skipper Tetteh Evans ensured that coach Djoufack Saturnin’s team advanced to the next stage of the competition.
Tetteh was brilliant on goal as he made a number of saves to facilitate the win especially by keeping a clean sheet.
Likanjo, an international with the Under-17 national selection of Cameroon has had an amazing 2021, scoring 51 goals in all competitions as he top scored in all competitions Best Stars participated in.
A student of the Best Stars Academy since the age of 12, Likanjo has developed into a complete forward and these days provides the luxury of being available for any of the forward roles.
His performances have earned the admiration of a number of clubs in Cameroon’s top-flight championship including multiple champions Canon Yaounde and 2021 champions PWD of Bamenda who have made inquiries about his availability at some point in time.
Best Stars will take on Real Academy of New Bell in the semi-final of the 2021 December tournament on Friday and Soppo is expected to sparkle for the Academicians from Limbe.
