Former Cotonsport netminder Omossola Medjo Simon Loti, has been included in AS Vita’s list of 30 players retained for the franchise’s preseason camping. For this lone reason, Cameroon’s Under-23 goalie would have declared himself forfeit for the upcoming African Nations Championship, to be hosted in his country of birth.

The African Nations Championship is played between the best national teams of Africa, exclusively featuring players who are active in the national championships and qualified to play in the ongoing season.

Intermediate Lions of Cameroon gaffer, Yves Clement Arroga took on a 50/50 percent chance to name the former Apejes of Mfou Academy product in his preparatory squad from; September 15, to 25.

Quizzed about the reason for Omossola’s inclusion in his preparatory squad, Clement Arroga told the press that until pen is put on paper- out of the country, Omossola remains eligible for the CHAN.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper’s absence just like Thierry Akono, Mbarga Abega and to some extent Alphonse Marie Tchientcheu, is a tough uppercut to the chin for the intermediate Lions. However, there are still some great keepers in the land. Elite One champions, PWD of Bamenda just acquired the services of Haschou Kerrido. Other names like: Epane Letizi, Dande Junior, Anye Derrick are all omnipresent if duty calls.
