It is the second time this term that the coach is showing undiluted trust in goalkeeper Steve Mandanda’s unofficial successor.
Born on the 12th of April 2003 in Foumban Cameroon, the current Olympique of Marseille Under 19 goalkeeper at 16 became the attention of the media when former Spurs and Porto boss AVB included him amongst youths to be involved in the pre-season activities with the first team players.
kick442.com understands the Cameroon football federation have reached out to Marseille to make available the lad to Cameroon on the request of the technical staff of the national under 17 team.
Simon is still make a full debut for Olympique of Marseille but he is already impressing the great AVB.
He is expected to join Cameroon’s team for the Pre-World Cup Camp in Instanbul-Turkey from the 19th September 2019 as he looks to provide healthy competition for AFCON winning duo Ekoi Manfred and Mbeubap Bruno.
Aliou Hendji, one of Cameroon’s goalkeepers at this year’s AFCON in Tanzania was declared ineligible for the tournament by CAF so Simon could be a fitting replacement if he is brought on board.
