Simba Sports Club (SC) of Tanzania has announced the acquisition of Nigerian midfielder, Victor alongside two other Tanzanian players ahead of the upcoming season.
The team has reached an agreement to sign midfielder Victor Akpan, a Nigerian from Coastal Union on a two-year contract.
Akpan has been a mainstay in Coastal’s defensive midfield making it to the Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) Championship Final last season.
Last season Akpan played 26 matches scoring one goal and assisting with four more.
Before joining Coastal Union, Akpan was playing for JKU Zanzibar which he joined from Katsina United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The club has also reached an agreement to sign striker Habibu Kyombo, from Mbeya Kwanza on a two-year contract.
Kyombo is coming to improve and bring back the edge of the team’s offensive line towards the 2022/2023 season.
Last season with Mbeya Kwanza, Kyombo scored six goals with an assist.
Kyombo has extensive experience with Tanzanian football, having played for several clubs at various times before moving to South Africa.
Meanwhile, Simba SC has reached an agreement to sign midfielder Nassoro Kapama from Kagera Sugar on a two-year deal.
Kapama has the ability to play many roles on the field as a defender, midfielder, and striker a situation that attracted the technical bench to sign him.
At Kagera Sugar last season Kapama scored two goals and helped secure three more after 25 matches.
Before joining Kagera Kapama he was playing for Ndanda FC.
Kapama becomes the fourth player to be signed into Simba SC squad for the new league season after Zambian Moses Phiri from Zanaco FC, Victor Akpan, and Habibu Kyomo.
