Simba Queens of Tanzania on Saturday won the Serengeti Lite Women’s Premier League title for the third consecutive season after a 2-1 win against Mlandizi Queens at the Mabatini Stadium.
The league Champions started the game with Janeth Shija in goal alongside Violeth Thadeo, Silvia Nwacha, Wema Richard, Juliet Singano, Fatima Issa, Jaccline Albert, Joelle Bukuru, Amina Ramadan, and Asha Djafar.
Asha Djafar scored the first goal of the game for Simba Queens in the 31st minute from the penalty spot.
Six minutes later, Mlandizi Queens restored parity with the equalising goal.
After the interval, Sylvia Nwacha converted the winning goal for Simba Queens in the 56th minute.
Simba Queens with 57 points will finish top of the league table ahead of Yanga with 50 points given the remaining two games this season.
The team will represent Tanzania at the 2022 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.
