Sierra Leone Division 1 side, East Regional Tigers have hired and Unveiled former Sierra Leone Women’s national team head coach, Victoria Conteh.

Victoria will lead the side for the coming season, she becomes the first woman to coach a men’s dominanted football team in the country.

The former Sierra Leone female international returns to the East End Lioness club she played for.

She arrives with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the game, having been in football for the last 25 years.

Holder of a CAF A license, she has been coach of the women’s national team of her country and coach of her country national police team, she is a Police officer too.

Speaking during her presentation ceremony,she thanked the club for the trust.

“This appointment is an opportunity I have wanted for long”, I can’t wait to get started,” she told club’s media.

Globally female coaches have very few club owners who have entrusted their men’s football team to a lady.
Coach Victoria’s case this Thursday is the first in her country.

“I am ready and hope to cope with the pressure and do my very best.”

Coach Conteh, who is also a CAF instructor will make her debut on the technical bench of East End Tigers this Saturday when they face FC Kallon at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.
