The Brains behind the New found optimism in Sierra Leone Football

The Sierra Leone Premier League Board (SLPLB) has on Monday published a release carrying different sanctions to individuals and clubs that have in one way or the other tempered with the sanity of the ongoing local league under the guidance of the body.

The board released a cross section of sanctions to the different parties depending on their crimes.

Monday’s release read as follows;

The Sierra Leone Premier League Board (SLPLB) wishes to inform the public and fervent followers of the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League that, in a way of ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the ongoing 2018-2019 League season, the Disciplinary and Protests Committee in accordance with the premier league rules and regulations have completed investigations on official complaints/reports received from previous league matches from across the country.
After thorough investigations and with evidences available, the committee was able to arrive at the following decisions from the respective matches as stipulated in the reports below:

*1. ANTI DRUGS VS.CENTRALPARADE (O-2)*

The following decisions were taken:

*The sum of one million Leones (1,000,000) each has been fine to both clubs for failure to report for pre-match meeting.*

*2. FREETOWN CITY VS. PORTS AUTHORITY (0-1)*

The following decision 002 was taken:

*The sum of One Million Leones (1,000,000) has been imposed on Ports Authority Football Club for failure to report the next Pre-match meeting.*

*3. OLD EDWARDIANS VS. RSLAF ( 2-0)*

The following decisions have been taken:

*For failing to attend Pre-match meeting, Old Edwardians Football Club has been fine the sum of One Million Leones (1,000,000), and another One Million Leones (1,000,000) for arriving half an hour late before kick-off.*

*4. E.E. TIGERS VS. M. BLACKPOOL (0-1)*

*Following the conducts of the team officials, spectators and sympathizers of East End Tigers Fc towards incitement and the use of invectives against match officials, the sum of Four million, five hundred thousand Leones has been levied as a fine to East End Tigers Football Club.*

*Ports Authority has been fine the sum of six million five hundred thousand Leones for the above misconducts.*

*Furthermore, Ports Authority Fc players, Brima George Jr and David Bangura have both been suspended for four (4) and two (2) matches respectively for physical attack on match officials.*

The following decisions have been taken:

*Bo Rangers Football Club has been fine the sum of Two Million five hundred thousand Leones (Le 2,500,000) for improper conduct.*

*Furthermore, East End Tigers Football Club are also fine the sum of Two million five hundred thousand Leones for the same behavior.*

*7. CENTRAL PARADE VS. OLD EDWARDIANS FC (2 -0)*

DATE: SATURDAY 23RD FEBRAURY 2019

PHYSICAL ATTACK ON THE REFEREE AT THE 85TH MINUTE OF PLAY BY SUPPORTERS OF THE OLD EDWARDIANS TEAM WHO THREW A STONE AT HIM, HITTING HIS RIGHT LEG.

*(Fine Le2.5m for the above incident)*

PHYSICAL ASSAULT ON THE REFEREE BY THE ASSISTANT COACH OF THE OLD EDWARDIANS TEAM, AT THE END OF THE MATCH WHEN THE FINAL WHISTLE WAS SOUNDED.

*(8 match ban for the Assistant Coach + Le5m Fine)*

AT THE MATCH OFFICIALS DRESSING ROOM, AT THE END OF THE MATCH, SUPPORTERS OF THE OLD EDWARDIANS TEAM CONTINUED TO THROW STONES AT THE REFEREES, AND ALSO USED ABUSIVE AND INSULTING LANGUAGES TO THE EXTENT OF EVEN THREATENING HIS LIFE.

*(A Le2.5 million fine to Old Edwardians for gross misconduct)*

*8. RSLAF VS. M. BLACKPOOL (0 -1)*

DATE: SUNDAY 24TH FEBUARY 2019

AT THE END OF THE MATCH, 95TH MINUTE, “PLAYERS WITH NUMBER 20 JERSEY ATTACKED THE REFEREES WHILE ON THEIR WAY TO THE DRESSING ROOM AND WAS USING A LOT OF INSULTING LANGUAGES WHICH WARRANTED HIM TO GET A RED CARD.

The following decision have been taken:

*1. A fine of Le2.5 million and a four (4) match ban for the player*

*9. DIAMOND STARS VS BO RANGERS (1-0)*

“FRACAS” BETWEEN THE PLAYER-CAPTAIN OF BO RANGERS FC (MORIE E.K. ALIE) AND A “FAN” FROM DIAMOND STARS FC AFTER A GOAL WAS SCORED BY THE DIAMOND STARS FC TEAM IN THE THIRTEEN MINUTE OF PLAY. THERE WAS ALSO SOME “FRACAS” BETWEEN FANS OF BOTH TEAMS.

“AT THE END OF THE MATCH, THE REFEREE “WAS ATTACKED BY PLAYERS OF BO RANGERS NAMELY – FALLAH FAYAMBO NO. 7 AND

*Both players have been fine the sum of two million five hundred thousand Leones (Le2.5m) and to serve four (4) match-ban each.*

FAILURE TO PROVIDE LICENSE “A” COACHES AFTER DEADLINE DATE

*For failing to comply with the Premier League Board’s Directive of hiring the services of FIFA/CAF License “A” Coaches before the deadline date of 27th February, 2019, Mighty Blackpool and Anti-Drugs football clubs have both been fine the sum of Two million five hundred thousand Leones (Le 2,500,000) each for noncompliance.*

USE OF PA SYSTEM DURING MATCHES

Contrary to the Premier League rules and regulations, the public is further informed that, Mighty Blackpool football club have further been fine the sum of two million five hundred thousand Leones (2,500,000) for the continuous use of PA system during matches, thus disturbing the peaceful proceeding of the match.

The Premier League Board is also assuring football fans of its total commitment towards ensuring a violence-free Premier League.
