The Sierra Leone FA association has resolved to provide the conditions for the continuation of the 2019-2020 football season.
Football activities in the West African nation has been on a lull since the month of February following the outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic in the country.
Unlike a handful of African nations, SFL is not backing out of it’s responsibility despite the flare-up of the global pandemic.
The Sierra Leone Football Association has decided to continue with the 2019/2020 Premier League season to completion, as soon as the Covid-19 pandemic is declared eradicated and/ or the ban on sports activities is lifted by the government of Sierra Leone. There are seven or matches to end the first round and 91 matches to be played in the second round of the league.” The FA Tweeted.

Before the mandatory break imposed by the government, Kamboi Eagles occupied the top position in the championship having garnered 24 points from 13 games and just a point adrift of second-placed Bo Rangers.
Besides the prize money, the national champions of the country are usually the country’s ambassadors in the CAF’s flagship club competition, the CAF Champions League.
The decision to continue without stating a kick off date has left many tongues wagging as the country hopes to be represented in the champions league this year.
