Chinese Super league side, Shanghai Shenhua has offered Odion Jude Ighalo an improved contract for him to stay put at the club.

It is reported that he has been offered an improved two year contract extension at Shanghai Shenhua with a £400,000 weekly wage.

Ighalo’s current contract expires in December 2022 and the Chinese club is looking to extend his stay until December 2024.

Ighalo, who is currently on loan in Manchester United has been in red hot of form and looks likely to make the deal a permanent one after reports of talks for him to stay at the English club is imminent.

The 30-year-old’s loan in England expires on May 31 but, is likely to be extended until June 30 because of the coronavirus according to Sky.

Ighalo, in his short stay at Manchester United, has scored four goals in four starts and this looks good for the striker’s stake for a longer stay at Manchester.

According to the Mail, the striker is said to be earning E300,000 a week; a third of what he earns in Manchester United after a pay cut was accepted by the player.

Hence, this may be too good to resist for the former Watford man.

However, the player is said to be weighing his options with an expectation of a permanent deal offer from Manchester United.
