Ivorian right-back Serge Aurier has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons.
The native of Ouraghio, Côte d’Ivoire, breached government Coronavirus lockdown guidelines on Tuesday when he posted a video of himself training outdoors with French international midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
Aurier and Sissoko were compelled to make a public apology and pledge a donation to National Health Service [NHS] workers.
Though the former Toulouse and PSG defender has been a mainstay in Jose Mourinho’s team since the Portuguese coach was appointed in November last year, Tottenham are believed to be in the hunt for Norwich’s right back Max Aarons and are looking to move on either Aurier or the only other right-back on their books,Kyle Walker-Peters currently on loan at Southampton.
Walker-Peters is currently on loan at fellow Premier League outfit Southampton, but Saints have made it clear that they do not intend to make the move permanent, which implies he will be returning to Tottenham next season.
Aurier’s recent controversies and an open desire to return to French club PSG have fueled reports that the Ivorian international could be on his way out of the north London club.
Aurier has made 49 league appearances for Spurs, scoring three goals since joining them in 2017.
He has won 62 caps for Côte d’Ivoire scoring 2 goals, since making his debut in 2013.
