Senegalese midfielder Krepin Diatta who scored the second goal with a screamer of a shot against Tanzania in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations has expressed his sadness over the fact that some of his African brothers are mocking at him.
“I feel sad to see certain African brothers make a mockery of me. I am working hard for the pride our beautiful African and dear African continent and all get in return is insults, from my own brothers. It’s cruel on your part, and that’s where racism originates from. I want to say thank you to all those who support me. God is my strength and I am proud of my physical appearance. Your mockery will not change anything in my life. But one thing is certain, we are all Africans,” Diatta said.
The 20 year old Club Brugge midfielder made his debut for the Teranga Lions on March 23, 2019 in an AFCON qualifier against Madagascar as a starter.
He has gone on to win three more caps and opened his goal scoring account with the national team with that screamer against Tanzania.
Krepin Diatta who came through the ranks of the Oslo Football Academy has previously played for Sarpsborg 08 in Norway before joining Club Brugge and has also been a Senegal U-20 International before the big call from coach Aliou Cissé for him to join the senior team.
He announced himself on the big stage in grand style and we’ll rather prefer to talk more about his football exploits than his physical looks.
Good Luck Krepin.
