2022 has been a stealer year for Senegalese forward Sadio Mane. From winning Senegal’s first ever AFCON in February, to finishing best player in the tournament, or even better , being a potential ballon d’or nominees after winning two important trophies with his Liverpool teammates.
Well if you thought the 30-year old has exhausted his luck this year you are definitely mistaken, as he recently became the highest goal scorer for the teranga lions outruling Henri Kamaras 7 year old record.
On match 4 2022, The emblematic Mané scored a hat trick against benin, to leapfrog pass his senior Kamara , to become Senegal highest goal scorer with 32 goals.
Prior to this game, the 2021 AFCON player of the tournament had tie his senior with 29 goals in the international football.
The native of Banbali made his debut with the teranga lions in 2012 at the summer olympics and since then mane has had over 90 caps for Senegal.
Henri Kamara who still holds the records of highest capped player for the Senegalese national team did not fail to congratulate mane for his latest achievement.
Thé 45-year old took to Instagram to say; ‘I am very honored tonight to see my little brother, Sadio mane break my record for the most goals in the national team. It is a pride. I congratulate him and I wish him to continue to score and wear the colors of Senegal . BRAVO CHAMPION.»
