Senegal has begun the construction of a 50,000 seater Olympics Stadium at Diamniadio in Dakar
In February, 2020, Senegalese President Macky Sall launched the construction of a new 50,000-capacity stadium in Diamniadio in the West African country destined to stage events at the 2022 Youth Olympic Games.
The future national stadium which was awarded to a Turkish company Summa is expected to cost €238 million (£200 million/$258 million).
According to the Senegalese Sport Minister Matar Ba, the construction is expected to be completed by February 2022.
The Diamniadio Olympic Stadium will be a multi-purpose stadium which can host football, rugby and athletics and it will also be the national stadium for the Senegal national football team.
