2019 African Cup of Nations highest goal scorer, Odion Jude Ighalo scored two (2) goals for Manchester United in their 0-3 FA Cup Fourth Round victory over Championship side, Derby County.
In the 40th minute, Luke Shaw finds Odion Ighalo inside the box and the Nigerian looked to have lost the ball in between two Derby defenders.
But they cannot clear the ball away, Ighalo poked a left boot out and stabbed a finish into the bottom corner for a real striker’s finish which gave Manchester United a 2-0 lead.
Ighalo complete his brace in the 70th minute when the Nigerian was picked out inside the box by Juan Mata and sees his initial effort blocked, but the ball rebounds back to him and the former Watford striker absolutely leathers a left-footed finish into the roof of the net.
United took the lead in the 33rd minute through a very unlikely source.
The ball pinballs around the Derby box, Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard both see shots blocked.
It falls on the bounce for Luke Shaw on the edge of the area, the left-back smashes an effort into the turf and the ball loops high into the air, over Derby goalkeeper Kelle Roos and into the far end of the net.
Odion Ighalo has now scored in consecutive starts in all competitions for English clubs for the first time since December 2015 for Watford, when he scored in four in a row.
He has now scored on both of his two starts for Man Utd across all competitions.
He joined South African, Quinton Fortune to become the second African player to have scored for Manchester United in the FA Cup.
Manchester United will next play Norwich City in their FA Cup Quarter final clash.
