Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and Al-Raed midfielder Arnaud Djoum Suitchine played a telling role in his side’s 2-1 win at home to Abha in match-day five of the Saudi Pro league this Monday afternoon.
The midfield maestro returned from the international break and immediately got into coach Besnik Hasi’s team.
The Cameroon International took just 16 minute to connect with Ahmed Zain who gave the host a lead.
The host protected the lead till the break but the drama was far from over.
24-year-old Swedish forward Carlos Strandberg equalized for the visitors in the 58th minute, setting the stage for an interesting finale.
Djoum was booked three minutes later leaving the midfielder in a more cautious situation in the remaining 29 minutes.
28-year-old Moroccan midfielder Mohamed Fouzair won it for the host with a 74th minute strike to make it 2-1 for Al-Raed.
The host defended that lead till full-time thus making it a third win in five games this season.
Djoum lasted the duration of the game in his fourth league appearance of the season.
Al-Raed are currently ranked 3rd in the 16th-Club championship ahead of their trip to Al-Ain on Saturday.
