Leandre Tawamba Kana was on target for his club Al-Taawoun in the Saudi Arabia-Pro League. His 11mins goal, however, was not enough as Al-Taawoun lost the encounter 3-4 against Al Fateh FC on Sunday.
The game got off to the best possible start for the home side who took the lead through Tawamba at the 11mins. This was the second goal for Leandre Tawamba for his club in the last three games.
Leandre Tawamba scored in a 3-1 victory against Al Shabab. Before that victory, Tawamba had missed a penalty and gave an assist as his club won Al Ain 3-0 in the last encounter.
Iago Santos brought Al Fateh into the game at the 16mins before Al-Taawoun took the lead again at the 45+1mins through Marwane Saadane heading into the break.
Sofiane Bendebka will then equalize for Al Fateh at the 55mins before adding his second at the 76mins. Mohammed Yahya Majrashi will then make it 4-2 at the 80mins. Alejandro Romero then scored Al-Taawoun’s third goal (90+2mins) but the damage had already been done.
It has been a productive season so far for Tawamba scoring a couple of goals for his club. His most prolific season in professional football was in the 2018-2019 season in which he scored 21 league goals in 28 games for Al-Taawoun FC.
Al-Taawoun is currently fourth in the championship with 41 points, five points behind Al Ittihad in the third position and occupying the AFC Champions League qualification spot.
With four games left Al-Taawoun will hope to pick up maximum points in their efforts to finish in the AFC Champions League spots.
Alejandro Romero scored from the penalty spot but that effort could not bring Al-Taawoun back into the game. Al-Taawoun will be in action again on May 7 against Al Ahli.
