One of the World’s greatest strikers of all time, Samuel Eto’o Fils has taken to Instagram to announce his retirement from professional football aged 38.

The Cameroonian’s decision to quit brings to an end a 22 years football career which hooked him to clubs in 9 different countries in the world. Eto’o won trophies and scored goals nearly everywhere he played.

Eto’o spent last season at Qatari side Qatar SC and scored 6 goals in 17 league matches.

He represented 14 clubs in 7 countries as a player, he enjoyed his best days as a Barcelona and Inter Milan player as he won a historic treble in his stints at both clubs.

The “goal accountant” is Cameroon’s all time topscorer with a record number of 56 international goals in 118 games for country.
