Legendary Cameroonian footballer Samuel Eto’o Fils has been named honorary citizen of Cameroon in a solemn ceremony this Monday afternoon presided over by the mayor of the Yaoundé VI municipality.
The event which pulled together a good number of persons crowns a wonderful year for Samuel Eto’o.
The global icon Samuel Eto’o Fils was appointed brand ambassador of Senegalese air transport franchise “La Holding Bag’O” last month barely days after being named ambassador of Chad.
The former Barcelona and Inter Milan legend is the all-time is a fan favorite in Cameroon and to some the gesture had been long overdue.
Samuel Eto’o, 39, however finished his career last year having played for heavyweights Barcelona, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Everton and Inter Milan amongst others. This partly explains his attractiveness.
