President of the Federation of Cameron Football (FECAFOOT) and former African Footballer of the Year, Samuel Eto’o immediately went into the locker room to mobilise the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon after the team’s 0-0 draw with the Copper Queens of Zambia on Sunday.
Cameroon were held to a barren draw in its opening Group B game of the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The team dominated the game with a large share of ball possession and chances which it didn’t convert into goals.
Samuel Eto’o urged team captain, Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene and her teammates not to be distracted but to be focused on the next group game with the aim of winning the encounter.
“The first match are always difficult but the most important thing is not to lose the cap which is to qualify for the World Cup and win the competition.” He told the players and officials of the Indomitable Lionesses.
Cameroon will play Togo on Wednesday, 9:00 pm (21:00) in its second group game.
