Samuel Eto’o’s current club, Qatar Sports club are already in Spain for their pre-season preparations but they are doing so without elderly teammate Samuel Eto’o.
The Qatar league ended on the 13th of April, 2019 and the 47th edition of the top-tier championship in Qatar is expected to restart on the 21st of August 2019 – reasons for the camping of QSC is Spain.
The 38-year-old striker who joined the club back in January 2018 contributed 6 goals in 17 games in the regular season plus 1 game in the playoffs, making it 18 in total recording 1.512 minutes the whole season.
Nevertheless, it has been the veteran forward’s off pitch movements that has been much talked about with ambassadorial roles everywhere including the new found job of acting as an assistant to CAF president Ahmad Ahmad.
After a catastrophic 2018 season for the Qatar Sports club which they only narrowly escaped relegation with the skin of their teeth, preparations for the next campaign had to begin earlier this season. It remains to be seen if Eto’o can manage football and diplomacy at a spin.
Qatar Sports club ended 11th out of 12 teams in the Quatari league in the 2018/19 campaign after leapfrogging Muaither SC in the relegation playoffs 1-0 courtesy a goal from H. Ali strike at the 38th minute that kept their heads above the water line.
