English Premier League side Chelsea are out in the market for wingers, with Willian and Pedro reported to be on their out of Stamford Bridge at the end of this season.
Chelsea have been reported to be keen on bringing in Borussia Dortmund’s English winger Jadon Sancho.
With a move for Sancho becoming more complicated by the day, the Blues have lined up Villarreal’s Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze as an alternative, according to Goal.
With Sancho valued at £90 million and Manchester United also keen on the 20-year-old, Chelsea are now reported to be shifting their attention towards Chukwueze.
Chukwueze is now a vital player for Villarreal after breaking into their first team in the 2018-2019 season. He has gone on to score 12 goals and provided 7 assists from 68 appearances for the Spanish top flight club.
Chukwueze who is valued at about £45 million is a cheaper option for Chelsea compared to Sancho.
His current contract with Villarreal runs till June 2023. He was a target for Liverpool last summer but Jurgen Klopp looks to be looking elsewhere in the next transfer window.
The native of Umuahia, joint Villarreal’s youth system in 2017 from Diamond Football Academy, where he spent five years.
Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze has won 13 caps of the Super Eagles of Nigeria scoring two goals.
