Samuel Chukwueze has agreed on a new and improved contract at Villarreal that sees his release clause rise to €100m for the next two years.

Sport Radio (Brila FM) reports that Chukwueze’s contract has now been improved thrice in over a year from €25m to €65m and now €100m.

Chukuweze, who has scored two goals in eight league appearances for Villarreal this season also helped Nigeria to a third place finish at African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The star player’s recent form for both club and country has seen him been nominated for the KOPA awards this year.

He will be the first Nigerian to be nominated for the award.
